In this article I shall discuss why you need to avoid giving your pet dog human foods and why it is so bad for them. Our pets simply cannot handle the same foods that we tend to eat. Majority of the foods we snack on or eat tend to have high contents of fats and oils that will make your pet sick and unhealthy.
When I first got my dog back in 1993, I was staying with my folks and my father would always feed my new puppy a bit of beef from his food and eventually my dog started throwing up all his food and his stomach was filled with gas and he was just uncomfortable.
The sad part is that our pets will see the food that we are eating and they shall come up to the table and beg for food. Not all dogs do this, but most do and the owners tend to feed them the same food that they are eating.
Top vets agree that dogs should strictly eat the food that is made for them and not the same food that you and I eat on a nightly basis. Their stomachs are not made for the foods that we eat. Feeding your pet anything except their own recommended foods can cause them to get sick and the next step would be to see a vet and that is not cheap either.
Your pet dog can also get very fat if you keep feeding him or her the same things that you eat at dinner. Overweight dogs are everywhere and this is not healthy at all. Dogs being overweight can cause them lots of health issues and we all want to see our pets be healthy and happy.
Everything mentioned in this article may be common sense, but you would be surprised just how many people are doing this and it makes their dogs unhealthy and you don't want that. Make sure to feed them food that is recommended by top vets and breeders.
Dogs also tend to develop bad habits if they are always fed human food and it is hard to break this habit, so don't help them form it.
