Pet Health - Pet Escapades of Cat Care

I write these stories to apprise everyone that has a pet to some of the situations we pet sitters run into from time to time while caring for your pets. Each one of us will handle these particular situations differently because we are all individuals.

It seems that I am in the cat cycle of pet sitting as I am taking care of a large number of kitties.

I just finished a client that had 2 cats and both are pretty friendly and very overweight. They are both really adorable and I love to care for them. This was a little trying time for me as we sometimes, run into situations where the homes are unkempt and it causes more time cleaning up than usual, which is the case here. When we enter a home our first priority is to feed and give clean water which is not possible if the kitchen sinks are loaded up with dirty dishes. We do clear and clean up the dishes because we have to maintain our professional services as we see fit. Another situation we run into with cats is a dirty litter box. We try our best to bring them up to par but, sometimes this is not possible because they were never cleaned properly to begin with. All we can do in this situation is to make the best of it by scooping and spraying with whatever is available or to bring some of my essential oils to dispense into the air to eliminate some of the odors. There have been some situations whereby the litter used is ridiculously inadequate for any proper way of eliminating waste or odor for that matter. Make sure you have enough plastic bags available for removal of your cat's waste and have enough litter. Make sure the litter you use does do the job. This will ensure proper care for your cat and anyone else that might be taking care of your cat.

Another thing to keep in mind is if the weather changes abruptly, to have a plan and strategy for your pet sitter to either heat or cool your home. Giving simple directions is only required, to locate and then, show how to turn on/off your heat or cooling. Employing a snow removal emergency plan is applicable and or having snow shovels available will ensure the pet sitter can enter your home. Plan on showing where the circuit breakers are is another great idea for keeping your loved ones secure as sometimes, furnaces have tripped circuit breakers in the dead of winter. Providing as much information as you can makes it easier for us to give great care for all concerned. We sometimes, risk a lot to get to your home so, making sure we can enter is a must.

Letting the pet sitter know how you care for your home is also, a must as some situation arise that we need to know the best and quickest route to maintain a relaxed and comfortable situation for your loved ones.
